General Sports Book Rules

  1. BetMGM reserves the right to refuse any wager, prior to its acceptance.
  2. BetMGM will determine minimum and maximum wager amounts per patron on all events to include all periods, segments, propositions, and future book wagers.Maximum payouts limits shall only be established through limiting the amount wagered and cannot be applied to reduce a winning wager amount.
  3. BetMGM mobile wagering application displays real time lines, current odds, and potential payouts when placing wagers. Patrons will be prompted with a confirmation message that selections are correct prior to the selection of the ‘place wagers’ button. Line change notifications may occur at any time during the wager placement process. The system by default accepts more favorable odds and the player must acknowledge or decline any less favorable odds changes.  This setting can be adjusted by the player to accept all odds changes for fastest play or remain on the system default of accepting more favorable odds.
  4. For online wagers, if a patron made an inadvertent bet in patron's account dueto an error (e.g., inadvertent multiple identical bets), patron must inform BetMGM within 15 minutes of any bet patron placed for BetMGM to consider appropriate adjustments to be made to patron's account.
  5. Wagers accepted will not be able to be changed or cancelled by the player upon confirmation of the successfully placed wager.
  6. BetMGM reserves the right to add, change or delete the payout ratio limits.
  7. There are no player-initiated cancellations of any wager after the event has started.
  8. Wagers may be accepted at terms other than those displayed within the main sports book rules or individual sports wagering rules. Specific stipulations will be displayed within the inventory section of an event page.
  9. BetMGM reserves the right to add, change or delete the BetMGM Sports House Rules, subject to regulatory approval.
  10. BetMGM will not accept the past posting of wagers or wagers on an event where the outcome is already known. In such cases that an error has occurred to accept a past posting, the wager may be cancelled.
  11. BetMGM will accept wagers on currently posted terms unless otherwise posted.
  12. Prohibited Wagers.No wagers may be accepted or paid by any book on:
    1. Any sport or athletic event which the licensee knows or reasonably should know, is being placed by, or on behalf of a coach or participant in that event. Each licensee shall take reasonable steps to prevent the circumvention of this regulation;
    2. The outcome of any election for any public office; and
    3. Any event which the Executive Director deems to be contrary to public policy.
  13. Prohibited Persons are not allowed to wager in Michigan."Prohibited Person" means any excluded person, any voluntarily-excluded person, and all of the following:
    1. An individual who is under the age of 21.
    2. Any employee of, or appointee to, the Michigan gaming control board.
    3. Employees of a sports betting operator are prohibited from creating an internet sports betting account and placing an internet sports betting wager with the sports betting operator for which he or she is employed unless using test account.
    4. Employees of a casino licensed under the Michigan gaming control and revenue act are prohibited from creating an internet sports betting account and placing an internet sports betting wager with the casino licensed as the sports betting operator for which he or she is employed unless using test account.
    5. Employees of an internet sports betting platform provider are prohibited from creating an internet sports betting account and placing an internet sports betting wager with the sports betting operator for which the internet sports betting platform provider supplies the internet sports betting platform unless using test account.
    6. Employees or appointees of a tribal casino authorized under the Indian gaming regulatory act, 25 USC 2701 to 2721, are prohibited from creating an internet sports betting account and placing an internet sports betting wager with the tribal casino licensed as the sports betting operator for which he or she is employed.
    7. Occupational licensees and applicants are prohibited from placing wagers with the sports betting operator or internet sports betting platform provider for which they are employed or for which they had to qualify.
    8. Individuals not in an authorized location to make a wager.
    9. An individual placing an internet sports betting wager on behalf of another.
    10. An individual with access to non-public/exclusive information related to an event or an individual who may impact the outcome of an event or wager type is prohibited from wagering on any event overseen by the relevant sports governing body.
    11. Athletes, coaches, managers, owners and anyone with sufficient authority to influence the outcome of an event are prohibited from wagering on events overseen by the relevant sports governing body.
    12. Employees of a sports governing body or its members teams are prohibited from wagering on any event overseen by the relevant sports governing body.
    13. Owners of a sports governing body or member team are prohibited from wagering on any event overseen by the sports governing body or any event in which a member team of that sports governing body participates.
    14. At the board’s discretion, an individual on a list provided by a team or sports governing body may be prohibited from wagering on any event overseen by the relevant sports governing body.
    15. Individuals wagering in violation of state, tribal, or federal law.
    16. Other prohibited persons as determined by the board.
  14. Management will maintain a record of all point spreads, odds, race results, final scores and related betting proposition statistics and outcomes to protect both the patron and BetMGM in case of obvious mechanical or human error.
  15. BetMGM account holders are encouraged to contact Customer Service by email or live chat for additional wagering information, questions, and complaints of any such nature. BetMGM will investigate any issue and provide a timely response.
  16. Cancelled events that have either not started or have not met the minimum length for an event to be official will result in straight wagers being cancelled. Parlays that involve a canceled event will reduce to the next lowest number of selections.
  17. Types of sporting events offered will be those submitted to and approved by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
